Drowning Hearts This Valentine’s Day

25 Jan

Image

So Valentine’s Day is fast approaching with only 6 days till the end of January, I started thinking about my nails for the day.

I call these nails ‘drowning hearts’ as they really look like they’re drowning, perfect for those of you who are not really enthusiastic about a day of hearts and flowers. This was a really easy nail art design, I was inspired to do it after seeing one on Pinterest, and of course I pinned it straight away. If you like my posts you’ll probably be pinterested in my pins too!

I used:

  • Base Coat (Any)
  • Elf – Innocent (Perfect neutral base colour, of course, you can use any base/background you wish)
  • Rimmel Lycra Pro – Coral Romance (Its brush is useful for heart design accuracy)
  • Hair grip/Bobby pin/Kirby grip (My favourite nail tool as starred in one of my favourite posts)

1. Start off with your base coat.

2. Paint on your base/background colour (Elf – Innocent).

3. Using your hair grip end dot on your heart shape on each nail. Don’t worry about it being perfect, when it comes it filling it in all will be perfect!

4. Fill this in using a good nail polish brush, preferably a nail art brush for accuracy, I am using my Rimmel Pro nail polish brush. I like to use tools that are accessible to everyone. I don’t always use my actual nail art pens when I don’t have to, to make it possible for everyone to do this nail design without having to go all out and buy nail tools.

Dont Blob it on Do Brush it on

5. Do the same with all your nails! They

Keep in mind your baby nail, it is going to need a smaller heart.

And Finally Seal the Deal with a Top coat

I think this is perfect for everyday and even for Valentine’s enthusiasts who, I hope, won’t be put off by the title. Hope you’ve enjoyed this post as much as I did painting my nails. See you in my next post, Ready for the Run!

Spring to Monochrome

18 Jan

Image

Monochrome is being recycled this year for S/S13 and the staying in because of the snow made me feel a bit white and black. I decided to experiment with black and white and ended up with zebra print nails.

These nails have been done a lot and they’re so easy. You can tell I have been lazy with my nail art lately but I promise you there is so much tricky looking but easy to do one’s coming up in the next few days including outfits.

All you need:

♥ Base/Top Coat

♥ Black Nail Polish with Nail art brush / Black Nail Art Polish / Black Nail Art Pen

♥ White Nail Polish

I haven’t got my usual step by step images for you since it is so easy to do. So, Protect, Paint and Get Creative!

Image

♥ Protect your nails with a clear coat.

I have been doing so much nail art with you here in my blog that I very easily run out of base coat and forget to buy more, so for now I am using my No. 7 So Bright Nail Brightener and it looks too pretty to cover, it really brightens up your nails giving it a natural and healthy shine, especially for these cold months.

Moving back onto topic, I then applied my white nail polish and after it had dried I used my nail art brush to draw curvy black lines. As you can see I have made the zebra patterns on each nail so varied. It was fun, quick and easy.

♥ Paint all nails white

♥ Get creative with your zebra monochrome

Don’t make curves too harsh, less is more here, so do slight curves. Also, when doing your second line try to follow around the first curve and so on. You can vary each nail as much as you want.

My Fashion Journey

13 Jan

Image

I am obsessed with Fashion and Beauty YouTube videos and blogs. Instead of logging into Facebook in the middle of revision I am reading a blog post, hitting ‘Like’ and ‘Follow’.

Since it is nearly a year of Blogging about Fashion and all my musings I was sitting here looking at my page thinking about my journey. I get such a buzz out of blogging about Fashion and I want to join in on the Fashion world more and more. Since blogging I have been so much more fashion conscious than I ever thought was possible, I have also been able to utilise my love for photography.

The reason why I am writing this post is because one of my New Years Resolutions was not to let anything stop me from Posting, Pinning and Tweeting. I am always slacking off, I have so many blog post ideas in my notebook and I have not taken the photos, dressed up or posted. I always have an outfit I feel really proud about putting together and want to share but never get round to it. This time I am going to be doing so much more outfits of the day whatever the weather, and try to do them outdoor too!

I know this is going to sound really cliché but I have a feeling a really good feeling about 2013 and feel like it’s going to be my year. This past year of Blogging was just my getting started. I have so much more to give and I can’t wait for my next blog post.

If you want to stay with me this year, here’s all the places you’ll find me at…
